Joseph Paschall (June 1740–23 February 1795) was a merchant and a member of the Young Junto, elected c. 1766. Born in Philadelphia, he and his brother, APS member Isaac Paschall, jointly owned a dry goods store, The Sign of the Red Hand-saw. As merchants, they both signed the Non-Importation Agreement in 1765. Paschall’s community involvement included serving as the manager of Philadelphia Society for Assisting Distressed Prisoners, director of the Library Company, manager of the Pennsylvania Hospital, and director of the Philadelphia Contributionship. Paschall never married, but he assumed guardianship of his nieces after the death of his brother. His uncle John Reynell was also a member of the APS. (PI)
