Samuel Robinson (142)
Election date: 1768 (Elected to the American Society.)Samuel Robinson (?–?) was a member of the American Society, elected in 1768, but little information is available to establish his identity. He may have been the “Mr. Robinson” who was recommended to Benjamin Franklin for an appointment in the post office around 1769. Alternatively, he may have been the Delaware-born Philadelphia merchant of that name (also spelled Robeson and Robisson) who died in 1774. (PI)
